Zone Supervisor - Mitre 10 Waihi

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Zone Supervisor to lead our Dry Garden, Hardware, Plumbing, and Kitchen departments. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail leader who enjoys coaching others, driving results, and creating exceptional customer experiences.

This is a permanent role working 39.5 hours per week, including one weekend day.

About the Role

As a Zone Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and supporting your team to deliver operational excellence, maintain high merchandising standards, and provide outstanding customer service. You'll play a key role in motivating team members, driving department performance, and ensuring our customers leave with the right products and advice every time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching, and developing team members to achieve their full potential
• Creating a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture
• Delivering exceptional customer service and supporting team members to do the same
• Ensuring departments are well-presented, fully stocked, and operating efficiently
• Training team members on company procedures, compliance requirements, and best practices
• Monitoring inventory accuracy, participating in stocktakes, and investigating stock loss
• Supporting communication across the store and fostering team engagement
• Driving sales, productivity, and overall department performance

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a retail environment
• A passion for customer service and the ability to lead by example
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience coaching, developing, and motivating others
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Confidence working independently while contributing positively to the wider leadership team
• Experience in hardware, garden, building supplies, trade, or related retail environments would be advantageous
