About the role

We’re seeking a skilled and enthusiastic team member for our Trade (Timber and Building) department, serving the West Auckland community. In this role, you’ll assist customers with selecting products that fit their needs, budget, and project size, providing technical information and guidance. Over time, you’ll develop expertise in timber and building materials, becoming a go-to advisor. Daily tasks include operating trade machinery such as saws, forklifts, reach trucks, and scissor lifts; maintaining a clean and organized trade yard and drive-thru; and ensuring all timber products are sold under accurate SKUs and measurements.

What will you bring?

• You’re an experienced trade yard retail assistant, semi-qualified tradie, or a tradesperson looking to transition off the tools.
• You will be regarded as physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and/or manual handling.
• A valid, full, clean Class 1 driver’s license is essential, as you’ll occasionally need to drive delivery vehicles and pool cars.
• You also have a forklift license with an F endorsement.
• You would be a local West Auckland resident likely residing in one of the following areas: New Lynn, Avondale, Blockhouse Bay, Glen Eden, Green Bay, Kelston, Titirangi, New Windsor, Henderson, Massey, Te Atatū Peninsula, Te Atatū South, Glendene, Sunnyvale, Oratia, Mount Roskill, or Mount Albert.
