Trade Team Member
This is a full-time position with a Sunday to Thursday roster, within our Timber & Building (Trade) department. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that works across both the Trade Counter and Timber Yard, supporting customers from enquiry through to order fulfilment.
You’ll be working in a environment where accuracy, product knowledge, and teamwork matter. Whether you’re on the counter processing orders or out in the yard preparing them, your role is to keep customers moving — quickly and correctly. This is a physical role in a busy department.
Purpose:
Support trade customers with expert advice, accurate quotes, and timely fulfilment to keep projects on track.
Build long‑term relationships by understanding product specs, delivery requirements, and account processes.
Key Deliverables:
- Provide product selection support, quotes, and price confirmations; manage special orders.
- Pick and stage orders; coordinate deliveries to achieve on‑time, in‑full results.
- Maintain trade ranges, labels, and stock levels; action replenishment and back‑orders.
- Handle account queries; liaise with office for complex issues; maintain accurate records.
- Ensure yard and trade‑area safety; apply PPE requirements and yard traffic controls including; spotter, exclusion zones and any other store safety protocols as required.
- Drive value‑add sales through alternatives and project‑fit solutions.
- Unload, check, and receipt inbound shipments; confirm quantities against paperwork.

Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of building supplies, fixings, timber, and consumables; willingness to learn specifications.
- Use of inventory systems; pick slips, staging, delivery scheduling.
- Basic quoting and familiarity with trade account processes.
- RF scanning and stock cycle counting.
- Forklift licence not required (training can be provided)
