It’s a place where people know your name, pull their weight, and where effort doesn’t go unnoticed. Our Timber & Building department sits at the heart of our Trade operation — supporting customers who rely on us every day for quality products, efficient service, and practical advice.

About the Role

We have a permanent, part-time opportunity (24 hours midweek) available within our Timber & Building (Trade) department, working across both the Trade Counter and Timber Yard.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role supporting customers from enquiry through to order fulfilment. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, product knowledge, and teamwork matter. Whether you’re on the counter processing orders or out in the yard preparing them, your focus is to keep customers moving — quickly and correctly.

This is a physical role in a busy department, so confidence working in an outdoor, warehouse-style retail environment is important. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting trade and retail customers with timber and building materials
• Processing orders and transactions accurately at the trade counter
• Providing practical advice and product solutions
• Picking, packing, and preparing trade orders in the timber yard
• Coordinating pick-ups and deliveries with the yard team
• Operating within the drive-through trade area
• Stock replenishment and maintaining merchandising standards
• Keeping the counter and yard tidy, organised, and professional

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in timber, building supplies, hardware retail, or a trade-related environment
• Full driver’s licence essential (forklift licence highly valued, but full drivers is not negotiable)
• Practical DIY or construction knowledge (highly regarded)
• Confidence working across both a trade counter and timber yard
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
• Clear, practical communication skills
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Physical capability for a hands-on role
• Based in Warkworth or the surrounding area, with a practical and sustainable commute to the site
