Our New Lynn store services a strong trade and DIY customer base across West Auckland and surrounding areas. Our Timber & Building department sits at the heart of our Trade operation — supporting builders, contractors, and serious DIYers who rely on us for quality products, sharp service, and practical advice every day.

🧭 About the Role

This is a full-time position (4-day work week) within our Timber & Building (Trade) department. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where product knowledge, teamwork, and customer focus matter. This role supports both trade professionals and retail customers, helping them source the right materials and get their projects moving. Your day-to-day will include:

• Assisting trade and retail customers with timber and building materials
• Picking, packing, and preparing trade orders
• Operating within the yard and drive-through trade area
• Stock replenishment and maintaining merchandising standards
• Manual handling of timber and building products
• Working closely with the wider Trade team to keep customers moving
• This is a physical role in a busy department, so confidence in a practical, outdoor/warehouse-style retail environment is important.

🛠️ What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience in timber, building supplies, hardware retail, or a trade-related environment
• Full driver's license a must (current forklift licence highly valued) 
• Practical DIY or construction knowledge (highly regarded)
• Confidence engaging with trade customers and providing sound advice
• A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Physical capability for a hands-on role
• Availability to work full-time hours, including weekends. 
• Ideally, you’ll be based in West Auckland or within easy commuting distance to New Lynn.
