Trade Sales Account Manager (Rep)

At Mitre 10 Wellington Central and Mitre 10 Crofton Downs, we’re looking for a motivated and relationship focused Trade Sales Account Manager (Rep) to help grow and support our trade customer base across both stores.

You’ll be focused on understanding the business challenges and opportunities for growth within Trade and contribute to the overall success of the business by optimising sales and profitability. You’ll inspire existing and potential customers in a manner that encourages them to favour us with their business, ultimately building an ever-stronger Trade customer client base.This is an opportunity to put your skills to the test and become an integral member of our Trade team. We are looking for someone to be involved in the growth and development of our Trade business, consistently deliver exceptional customer service, and truly understand our customers and our customers’ businesses.
Reporting directly to the Trade Manager, in this role you will:
- Develop & manage a portfolio of trade customers
- Proactively seek out and onboard new trade accounts
- Build strong relationships through regular contact and site visits
- Provide product solutions, quotes and pricing support
- Coordinate with the stores to ensure smooth service delivery
- Identify opportunities to grow customer spend and loyalty
- Driving sales and gross profit within Trade business accounts
- Promoting the Trade sales business to customer
- Maintaining operational excellence
You will bring to this role:
- Key account management & development skills, along with strong negotiation skills
- Strong Trade management/operations experience – experience within the building/timber industry
- Confidence approaching new business opportunities including cold calling
- Sound building industry knowledge
- Exceptional customer focus
- Well-developed time management skills
- Good IT and process understanding
- Knowledge of relevant legislative governances i.e., Building Code, Resource Management, Fair Trading Act, Consumers Guarantee Act etc., and act in accordance with them
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
