Trade Representative

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Trade Representative to join our team at Mitre 10 MEGA Mt Wellington on a 12 month fixed-term contract and help grow our trade business across Auckland. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role where you'll spend much of your time on the road building relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and growing our share of the trade market. Working closely with our highly experienced Trade team, you will manage a portfolio of existing customers while proactively seeking and securing new business. Your ability to understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and deliver outstanding service will be key to your success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and growing trade sales across your territory.
- Building strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective trade customers.
- Identifying new business opportunities and converting leads into loyal customers.
- Providing expert product advice and solutions that add value to customers' businesses.
- Collaborating with the Trade and Store teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Monitoring market activity and competitor trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Minimum 3 years' experience within the building, construction, retail or allied industries.
- Proven success in sales, account management or business development.
- Strong knowledge of building products and the trade customer environment.
- A genuine passion for building relationships and delivering outstanding customer service.
- The ability to identify opportunities, influence outcomes, and close sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- A self-motivated, results-driven approach with a focus on achieving growth targets.
- A clean, full New Zealand driver's licence.
