We’re opening a brand‑new Mitre 10 MEGA in Papamoa, and we’re looking for an experienced, relationship‑driven Trade Manager to build our trade business from the ground up.

About the role

This is a greenfield leadership role where you’ll create the trade offer, grow the customer base, and build your own high‑performing team. It’s a chance to establish Mitre 10 MEGA Papamoa as the go‑to trade partner in the region.

You’ll report to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in the store’s success by:

• Leading the development and growth of trade as a strategic, high‑priority focus
• Building strong relationships with small–medium builders and subcontractors across Papamoa and the wider Bay of Plenty
• Growing new business by leveraging your existing networks and creating new ones
• Leading and developing your trade team, including:
• 2 x Account Managers
• 1 x Trade Administrator
  (with the opportunity to expand your team as the business grows)
• Overseeing the trade service desk and drive‑through operations
• Integrating trade across the wider store in partnership with the General Manager and department leads
• Setting clear targets, tracking performance and driving sustainable sales growth

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll be someone who loves building something new, forging strong relationships, and making your mark.

We’re looking for:

• Proven experience in trade sales and trade management
• Strong understanding of the local trade market
• Demonstrated success building and leading teams
• A strong network of local builders and subcontractors (Bay of Plenty connections are a big advantage)
• A proactive, relationship‑driven approach with a track record of winning new business
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build a business
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
