🔧 About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a full-time team member to join our Timber & Building Department at Mitre 10 MEGA Albany. Whether you’ve worked in a trade yard, processed sales at a trade counter or handled building supplies—this is your chance to step into a hands-on, customer-focused role.

This is a 40-hour-per-week position, with rostered shifts that include at least one weekend day (Saturday preferred) and likely late finishes (7pm). You’ll support a wide range of customers—from DIYers to seasoned tradies—helping them find the right products and finalising sales at the trade counter point of sale. You’ll also operate machinery (including saws and forklifts), help maintain a safe and organised yard, and be expected to jump in wherever help is needed across the department.

Please note that this role requires sound mathematical ability, as timber is sold by linear metre and often needs to be calculated at point of sale.

🛠 What You’ll Bring (minimum requirements)

🔨 Timber or building supply experience preferred; general trade industry knowledge essential
🎓 A current forklift license with F Endorsement is a prerequisite for this role; however, if you hold a full, clean Class 1 driver’s license, we can support you to gain this certification through training.
🧮 Strong math skills – confidence in calculating lengths and quantities at point of sale
💪 Physical fitness – heavy lifting is a regular part of the role
🔧 A team-first attitude – willing to support wherever needed across the department
🏡 Applicants must live locally on the North Shore or nearby for travel reliability
