About the job

We are seeking a hands-on leader to supervise a team of Carpenter/Fabricators during the night shift, working with specialized machinery. With the recent installation of our second production line, we are expanding our leadership team to meet increasing demand. 

This is a permanent, full-time, night shift role and the roster and hours will be as follows: Sunday to Thursday, 2.30pm to midnight. This role offers a competitive rate based on skills and experience. Additional benefits include a generous staff discount scheme at our associated Mitre 10 stores and Columbus cafés.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, with production line management a plus.
• Proven leadership skills, with a proactive and hands-on approach to team management.
• Strong problem-solving ability, with a knack for finding innovative solutions.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, including the ability to read and build from plans.
• A commitment to health and safety, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace

Preferred experience and qualifications:

• National Certificate in Carpentry or Frame and Truss Manufacturing is an advantage.
• Familiarity with NZS 3604:2011 and a strong understanding of construction methodology.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles is beneficial.
• Hands-on experience with MiTek technology is highly desirable.
