We’re passionate about helping Kiwis bring their projects to life, and we’re looking for an experienced and engaged Retail Manager to lead one of our key store areas and deliver outstanding results through people, processes, and customer service.
About the Role
This is a full‑time, 40‑hour‑per‑week role, working Tuesday to Saturday.
As our Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership and performance of your retail departments. You’ll create an environment where customers feel supported, the team feels valued, and the store operates safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and people‑focused — perfect for someone who thrives on leading from the front and making things happen.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure positive customer experiences.
- Drive sales, margins, and profitability within your departments.
- Maintain merchandising standards, stock availability, and presentation.
- Develop and manage daily/weekly plans to keep the department running smoothly.
- Manage rosters, training, performance, and recruitment as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other store leaders to achieve store‑wide goals.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational policies.
- Support a strong team culture based on communication, accountability, and respect.
About You
You’ll bring strong leadership skills, a great attitude, and the ability to guide and inspire your team. You’ll be comfortable in a busy retail environment and confident making decisions that support both the team and the customer.
You will ideally have:
- Proven leadership experience in retail or a similar customer‑focused environment.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
- Experience managing people, performance, and daily operations.
- A passion for customer service and delivering excellence.
- Confidence with planning, rostering, and problem‑solving on the go.
- A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to health & safety and leading safe behaviours.
