This is not a stepping-stone role. It’s a senior retail leadership position within one of the most complex stores in the network.

 

🧭 About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead our frontline service portfolio and contribute to overall store performance at scale.

Reporting to the Store Manager, this role carries accountability for customer service delivery, service performance metrics and associated commercial outcomes. You will lead large, customer-facing teams while ensuring operational discipline, labour control, and measurable performance standards are consistently achieved.

In addition to frontline service, this role holds leadership responsibility across a substantial portfolio of core retail departments, with scope evolving in line with store structure and business priorities. In a store of this size, cross-functional collaboration, strong operational oversight, and sound commercial judgement are essential. You will play a visible leadership role on the shop floor — setting standards, resolving complex issues, driving accountability, and ensuring customer experience and financial performance remain aligned.

 

🛒 Your Day-to-Day

  • Owning commercial performance across your portfolio of departments, including revenue, labour, and KPI outcomes
  • Leading large, multi-layered teams within a complex retail environment
  • Driving measurable improvements in sales, productivity, and operational standards
  • Managing labour planning, roster optimisation, and wage control to budget
  • Using data, reporting, and trading insights to inform operational and commercial decisions
  • Managing complex customer escalations with sound commercial judgement
  • Contributing to loss prevention, health & safety, and compliance outcomes
  • Building a disciplined, high-accountability team culture aligned to store performance expectations

 

👤 What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior retail leadership role within a large-format / big box environment
  • Proven accountability for departmental revenue performance, wage budgets, and operational KPIs
  • Experience leading large, multi-layered teams in a fast-paced retail setting
  • Strong commercial acumen with confidence interpreting data and performance reports
  • Sound judgement when balancing customer experience with financial outcomes
  • Clear understanding of health & safety obligations and people leadership responsibilities
  • A visible, credible leadership presence with the ability to influence across departments
