The opportunity
As our Purchasing Officer, you’ll keep the right products flowing from supplier to shelf — in full, on time, and accurately priced — so customers and our trade partners can crack on with their jobs.
You will:
- Raise, track, and receipt purchase orders; maintain accurate supplier and product data in our systems
- Monitor stock levels, lead times, and stock turns; action exceptions, backorders, and substitutions to minimise out‑of‑stocks and aged inventory.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries with the respective teams; support cycle counts/stock takes and variance resolution.
- Build strong supplier relationships — expediting orders, negotiating delivery improvements, and resolving pricing/quality queries.
- Ensure purchasing is aligned with promotions, seasonal plans, and demand — helping us deliver an excellent customer experience.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in purchasing/procurement, inventory, or supply chain. Comfortable with ERP (Mitre 10 is moving to SAP), Excel, and data accuracy.
- A proactive, organised approach — you can juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and solve supply issues before they become customer problems.
- Great communication and relationship skills with suppliers and internal teams; you live our values: customer‑obsessed, one team, honest & fair, and striving for excellence.
