Project Coordinator - Cutover
Mitre 10 has been a part of New Zealand's home improvement culture since 1974. An award-winning success story, inspiring Kiwi to love where they live, work and play with our home improvement, garden and trade offer.
We’re looking for a highly organised, calm‑under‑pressure Project Coordinator – Cutover on a 2-year fixed-term contract to help make our deployments seamless.
If you love bringing order to complex activities, coordinating people and plans, and playing a key role in high‑impact delivery moments, this could be your next great move.
What you’ll be doing
This role sits at the heart of store deployments and customer migration cutovers, ensuring everything is ready, aligned and executed safely for successful go‑lives.
You’ll:
- Coordinate end‑to‑end overnight cutover activities, from planning through to execution
- Maintain detailed cutover plans, schedules and run sheets
- Facilitate readiness checkpoints, rehearsals and go / no‑go decisions
- Be the central link between project workstreams, deployment teams, technology, data and stores
- Coordinate meetings, calendars, documentation and reporting across the programme
- Track risks, issues, dependencies and milestones, escalating when needed
- Support high‑quality governance and status reporting for senior stakeholders
NB. This role occasionally works outside standard business hours (often overnight during cutover), with flexibility built in, including time off post‑cutover to rest and recharge.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you do need the right mindset, coordination skills and confidence to work across multiple moving parts.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in project coordination (technology or large‑scale change preferred)
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Confidence coordinating across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication
- The ability to stay calm, focused and solutions‑oriented under pressure
- A collaborative approach with a “let’s get it done” attitude
- Solid capability across Microsoft 365 / Office tools
Experience supporting cutovers, deployments, or go‑live events is a bonus, but not essential.
Why you’ll love working with us:
We genuinely care about our people, and we’re committed to helping you thrive, at work and outside of it. You’ll enjoy:
- Mitre 10 team member discounts
- Flexible working options
- Birthday leave (your special day off, on us!)
- Life and trauma insurance
- One paid wellness day per year
