Procurement and Supplier Advisor

We think you would look great in Orange!

Mitre 10 MEGA Whangarei is locally owned and has a fantastic team culture. Our vision is to provide outstanding customer service, great quality products and the best value and expertise to enable our customers to have a great DIY experience. This is your chance to work in a "bigbox" format store and be part of a passionate and committed team.

We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Procurement and Supplier Advisor to join our team. This is more than a procurement role — it’s an opportunity to help make every customer project possible by ensuring the right products are here when they’re needed. You’ll play an important part in creating a store our customers can trust, while building your capability across procurement, supplier relationships, and inventory management in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day to day delivery of procurement activities across the business. Working closely with suppliers and in-store teams, you’ll help keep stock flowing, availability strong, and the customer experience reliable.

This is not a people management role, but it offers a clear pathway to grow in scope and responsibility over time. For the right person, there is strong potential to take on increasing ownership, shape how work is delivered, and expand into broader responsibilities as capability develops.

We’re open to a range of experience levels and are particularly interested in someone with strong learning agility, sound judgement, and a genuine interest in growing their impact over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help make sure the right products are in the right place at the right time, so customers can find what they need for their projects when they shop with us
  • Build strong supplier partnerships that support great availability, smooth supply, and better outcomes for the store and our customers
  • Keep a close eye on stock accuracy and inventory health so we can back our teams with confidence and deliver a reliable shopping experience
  • Work closely with in-store teams to understand demand, respond to trends, and make smart decisions about what we buy and when
  • Look for better ways to improve flow, strengthen availability, and reduce supply issues before they impact the customer
  • Take ownership when supply or supplier issues arise, working quickly to resolve them and keep the store moving
  • Support strong ranging, replenishment, and inventory decisions that keep our offer relevant, available, and ready for customers
  • Help keep supplier accounts accurate and running smoothly, so the details behind the scenes support a well-functioning store

What we offer:

  • The chance to build broad, storewide experience in a role with real impact on customer experience and store performance
  • A supportive, down-to-earth team culture in a locally owned business that values contribution and initiative
  • Great team purchasing discounts
  • Ongoing training and development through eLearning, on-the-job support, and access to Mitre 10’s national learning programme
  • The opportunity to grow your capability over time and shape the future scope of the role

Please note: We do not always work to a fixed closing date and will be considering applications as they are received so we encourage you to apply early.

Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
