Power Tools Team Mitre 10 MEGA Papanui

Smiths Mitre 10 MEGA is a family-owned Christchurch business, and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service to every customer, every time.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Power & Hand Tools Team Member to join our Papanui team and help us continue to make our store a number one destination for Trade and DIY customers alike.

This role is Tuesday to Saturday working 40 hours per week. This is a permanent position.

About the role

Are you handy with tools and enjoy helping others find the right product for the job?

Whether it's helping a customer choose the right power tool for their next project, finding the right accessory, or working through a tricky DIY question, you'll play an important part in making sure our customers leave with the right solution.

We're looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, can think on their feet and takes pride in delivering great customer service.

What we're looking for

• A genuine interest in power tools, hand tools and DIY
• Great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile
• Confidence talking with customers and helping them find the right solution
• Enthusiasm and a positive, team-focused attitude
• Good communication and time-management skills
• A willingness to learn and develop your product knowledge
• A professional and reliable approach to work
• Basic computer skills
• The ability to safely undertake the physical requirements of the role, including some lifting

Previous retail or tools experience would be an advantage, but it's not essential. If you're keen to learn and enjoy working with people, we'd still love to hear from you.

What we offer

You'll be joining a supportive, locally owned business where no two days are quite the same. You'll have the opportunity to develop your product knowledge, work with a great team and help customers bring their building and DIY projects to life.
