People & Capability Coordinator – Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui

We are looking for a motivated and people-focused People & Capability Coordinator to join our team and support the development of an engaged, capable, and high-performing workforce.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support our Store Leadership Team with the full range of People & Capability activities, including:

HR Support & Processes

• Assist store management with HR documentation, processes, and record‑keeping
• Support the coordination of performance and development conversations
• Maintain accurate team member files and HR databases

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, and reference checking
• Support managers to ensure effective and timely hiring
• Oversee induction processes to ensure new team members feel supported, prepared, and welcomed into the Mitre 10 team

Team Member Development

• Assist with organising training, development sessions, and compliance activities
• Help track team capability, training progress, and required certifications
• Support positive culture initiatives and engagement programmes

About You

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• High levels of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail
• A genuine interest in people and supporting their growth
• HR or recruitment experience is an advantage, but training can be provided for the right person
