People and Capability Administrator

Love people? Thrive on variety? Looking for a role where no two days are the same?

We're on the hunt for a People & Capability Administrator to join our small but mighty team of three, supporting more than 300 team members across:

  • Mitre 10 MEGA Tauranga
  • Mitre 10 MEGA Rotorua
  • Mitre 10 Waihi
  • Juted Frame & Truss
  • Juted Distribution Centre

This role is perfect for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people. You'll be the type of person who loves building relationships, brings positive energy wherever you go, and enjoys being part of a team that's there for our people.

We're a close-knit crew who work hard, support each other, have a good laugh, and make a real difference behind the scenes. If you enjoy variety, helping others, and being part of a team where every day brings something different, keep reading.

What You'll Be Doing

As our People & Capability Administrator, you'll play an important role in supporting both our HR and Health & Safety functions.

One day you might be helping a new team member get started, the next you're coordinating recruitment, visiting a site, supporting a wellbeing initiative, or assisting with a Health & Safety project.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating end-to-end recruitment, including position descriptions and job advertisements
  • Welcoming new team members through onboarding and induction programmes
  • Preparing employment agreements and contract variations
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Coordinating employee changes and updates with payroll
  • Producing reports, meeting minutes and people-related insights
  • Supporting Health & Safety initiatives across our sites
  • Providing general administration support to the People & Capability team

About You

We're looking for personality just as much as experience.

You'll be someone who:

  • Loves working with people and building positive relationships
  • Is friendly, approachable and naturally puts people at ease
  • Brings a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a team
  • Is organised and able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Thrives in a busy environment where every day looks a little different
  • Has excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems
  • Takes initiative and enjoys finding solutions

Ideally, you'll also have previous experience in HR, Recruitment and/or Health & Safety, or a relevant tertiary qualification, but we're equally interested in people with strong administration or customer service backgrounds who are eager to learn.

A full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence is required.

Why You'll Love Working with Us

Enjoy a 9-Day Fortnight! We believe work should fit around life, not the other way around.

This full-time role is 35 hours per week, giving you a 9-day fortnight and a long weekend every second week.

You'll Also Receive:

  • Competitive remuneration
  • Bonus scheme
  • Birthday day off
  • Trauma insurance
  • Generous staff discounts
  • Access to Mitre 10's Perks App and corporate discounts
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • The opportunity to grow your career with a well-known Kiwi brand

If you're a people person who enjoys variety, loves supporting others, and wants to be part of a team that genuinely cares about its people, we'd love to hear from you.
