People and Capability Administrator
Are you passionate about people, culture, and workplace wellbeing? Join our People & Capability team and play a key role in supporting our teams across five sites: Mitre 10 Mega Tauranga, Mitre 10 Mega Rotorua, Mitre 10 Waihi, Juted Frame & Truss and Tauranga Distribution Centre.
About the Role
No two days are the same in this role! You'll get hands-on experience across a broad range of HR and Health & Safety activities, helping us create a fantastic employee experience from recruitment through to development and support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end recruitment, including creating position descriptions and job adverts
- Welcoming new team members through onboarding and induction programmes
- Preparing employment agreements and contract variations
- Maintaining accurate digital employee records and documentation
- Coordinating employee changes and updates with our payroll team
- Producing reports, meeting minutes, and HR insights
- Supporting HR and Health & Safety initiatives across our sites
- Providing general administrative support to keep our People & Capability team running smoothly
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) based at our Tauranga Support Office, with occasional travel to our other sites (don't worry - we have a company pool car available).

About You
You'll be someone who loves working with people, enjoys variety, and thrives in a busy environment.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Previous experience in HR, Recruitment, and/or Health & Safety (1+ years preferred), or a relevant tertiary qualification
- A genuine people-first approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service experience
- Confidence using digital systems and Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to juggle competing priorities and adapt to changing demands
- Great planning, organisation, and time-management skills
- A positive, professional, and proactive attitude
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence
