As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Inventory Manager to step into this newly created role. With responsibility for inventory operations in Whanganui and inventory accountability across both our Whanganui and Stratford stores, this role offers the opportunity to influence both operational and commercial outcomes. You will be responsible for driving inventory accuracy and efficiency, building strong supplier relationships, and identifying buying opportunities that optimise stock investment and improve profitability, while ensuring customers have access to the products they need when they need them.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will take ownership of inventory operations across both our Whanganui and Stratford stores, ensuring stock accuracy, inventory integrity, and effective inventory control practices. Based primarily at our Whanganui store, this role will also require regular time spent in Stratford to support inventory management, process consistency, and business performance across both locations. Working closely with Store Manager, Trade Manager, Zone Leaders, department teams, suppliers, and support functions, you will drive operational excellence, identify opportunities to improve profitability through effective inventory management and purchasing decisions, and support the achievement of key business objectives. This role requires flexibility, including regular weekend work, to meet the needs of the business.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Leading and managing inventory processes across both the Whanganui and Stratford locations
• Identify and leverage strategic buying opportunities to optimise inventory investment, improve margins, and drive profitability.
• Ensuring accurate stock receipting, transfers, adjustments, stocktakes, cycle counts, and inventory reporting.
• Investigating and resolving stock variances, discrepancies, and inventory-related issues.
• Monitoring inventory levels and supporting replenishment decisions to optimise stock holding and profitability.
• Developing and maintaining consistent inventory standards, processes, and controls across both stores.
• Working collaboratively with store leadership teams, suppliers to improve stock accuracy, availability, and operational efficiency.
