Mitre 10 Mega Tauranga - Garden Zone Team Member

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Garden Zone Team Member to join our team in a permanent full-time position.
- Permanent full-time role (40 hours per week)
- Availability to work at least one weekend day per week is required
- Rosters are published two weeks in advance to help you plan your work-life commitments
This role combines Inwards Goods responsibilities with supporting the wider Garden Zone team, making it well suited to someone who is organised, accurate, and comfortable working with systems and processes.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our Garden Zone team, you'll play an important role in ensuring stock is accurately received, maintained, and available for our customers while also supporting day-to-day operations within the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing the Garden Department's Inwards Goods functions, including receipting and processing stock
- Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service
- Assisting with plant care, stock presentation, and merchandising
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting stock management processes
- Working alongside the wider team to keep the department running smoothly and efficiently
- Undertaking physical tasks, including lifting, moving, and handling plants, pots, soils, and other garden products
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented department
What We're Looking For
You'll be someone who:
- Has strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Has good maths skills and confidence working with inventory data
- Is competent using Microsoft Office applications
- Has strong organisational and communication skills
- Enjoys providing excellent customer service
- Is physically fit and comfortable undertaking hands-on work
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Holds a full, current driver's licence (essential)
- Holds a forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
Previous experience in retail, inventory control, warehousing, Inwards Goods, gardening, landscaping, or a related environment would be advantageous, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
