We’re on the lookout for a Trade Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to join our Mitre 10 MEGA Rotorua team on a 12-month fixed term (parental leave cover through to May 2027). This is a key role that helps keep our Trade operations running smoothly, ensuring the right stock is available at the right time so our customers can get the job done.

About the role

This position plays a crucial part in delivering a seamless experience for both our Trade and DIY customers. Behind the scenes, your work ensures stock accuracy, efficient purchasing, and smooth order fulfilment—helping our team deliver on customer expectations every day.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing purchasing and stock levels to ensure availability and accuracy
  • Forecasting demand and supporting inventory planning
  • Preparing trade pricing, quotes, and customer orders
  • Supporting the Trade team to maximise sales opportunities
  • Monitoring stock and ensuring timely replenishment
  • Working closely with leaders and wider team to meet sales and operational targets
  • Delivering a high level of service to both Trade and retail customers
  • Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment

What success looks like

  • Stock is accurate, well-managed, and available when needed
  • Customer orders are processed quickly and correctly
  • Trade customers receive reliable, consistent service
  • The team can operate efficiently with minimal stock issues
What you’ll bring
  • Experience in purchasing, inventory, administration, or retail (preferred)
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with systems, data, or forecasting tools
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative approach and customer-first mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of NZ retail legislation is beneficial but not essential (e.g. Fair-Trading Act, Consumer Guarantees Act).

Important information

This is a 12-month fixed-term role covering parental leave, offering a great opportunity to gain experience in a key operational role within a busy retail environment.
