Mitre 10 MEGA Henderson - Garden Centre Retail Team Member

Are you passionate about plants, love helping people, and enjoy being part of a great team? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Retail Team Member to join our Garden Centre at Mitre 10 MEGA Henderson!

If you enjoy being surrounded by greenery, helping customers bring their garden ideas to life, and working in a busy retail environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the Role

Our Garden Centre is about more than just plants — it’s about helping customers find the right products, sharing ideas and making their gardening projects a success.

As a Retail Team Member, you’ll provide friendly, knowledgeable service across our Garden Centre, assisting customers with everything from plants and garden care products to fertilisers, pest control, potting mix and garden tools.

You’ll help keep the department well stocked, tidy and looking its best, while working alongside a supportive team committed to delivering an excellent customer experience.

The role:

• Full-time position — 40 hours per week
• Days of work: Sunday to Thursday
• Based at Mitre 10 MEGA Henderson

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from someone who brings:

• A genuine interest in gardening, plants and outdoor living
• A passion for providing outstanding customer service
• Friendly communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• The ability to work well as part of a team and independently
• Good organisation, time management and attention to detail
• A willingness to learn about our products and share that knowledge with customers
• The physical fitness required for a hands-on retail role, including standing, lifting and moving stock

Previous retail or customer service experience would be an advantage. Knowledge of both live plants and garden products is a bonus, and horticultural training or experience would be great — but a willingness to learn and the right attitude are just as important.

Why Join Mitre 10 MEGA Henderson?

When you join our team, you’ll enjoy:

• A friendly and supportive team environment
• Generous staff discounts
• Mitre 10 Perks, with discounts at other businesses and retailers
• Opportunities to learn, develop and grow your career with an established New Zealand retail brand
