Merchandise Manager

Mitre 10 MEGA Palmerston North is looking for a dynamic Merchandise Manager to lead both inventory operations and merchandise planning. This is a key leadership role focused on range productivity, store and bay layout optimization, and maximizing customer experience, while driving profitability and sales growth through smart inventory and merchandising strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

• Oversee stock replenishment to maintain optimal inventory levels and product availability.
• Ensure stocktake integrity through accurate cycle counts and audits.
• Manage pricing accuracy across all inventory to align with company standards and promotional strategies.
• Monitor inventory levels to maximize availability while minimizing excess stock and waste.

Merchandising & Range Productivity:

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize product range and ensure high productivity across all categories.
• Plan and execute store and bay layouts that enhance accessibility, visual appeal, and customer flow.
• Collaborate with buying and sales teams to align inventory with customer demand, seasonal trends, and promotional campaigns.
• Analyze sales and performance data to identify opportunities for improved profitability and range efficiency.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained to create an engaging shopping experience.

Leadership & Compliance:

• Lead and coach the inventory and merchandising team to deliver operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with Mitre 10 standards and systems.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in merchandising, inventory management, or retail operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• A customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional shopping experiences.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
