Located in the heart of West Auckland, Mitre 10 MEGA New Lynn is a bustling hub for DIYers, tradies, and renovators from across the region. Positioned on Astley Avenue, our store is known for its down-to-earth service, knowledgeable team, and strong ties to the local community.

From big weekend projects to everyday essentials, we offer a full range of products and services backed by practical advice and friendly support. With an in-store Columbus Coffee café and a team that genuinely cares, we’re proud to be a go-to destination for all things home improvement in New Lynn and beyond.

 

🎯 About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced leader to guide our busy Front-End team. This full-time, permanent role oversees Checkouts and Customer Services—ensuring every customer is welcomed, served efficiently, and leaves with a great experience. You’ll lead day-to-day operations including refunds, click & collect, deliveries, special orders, and more. Reporting to the Retail Manager, you’ll need to live locally (West Auckland or nearby) and be available for rostered shifts, including at least one weekend day—ideally Saturday.

 

💡 What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in a customer-facing retail or service environment
  • A solutions-focused mindset and strong communication skills
  • Confidence dealing with customers and resolving issues on the spot
  • Calm, clear decision-making—even in high-pressure moments
  • A hands-on, collaborative approach with a focus on team success
  • Ideally based in or near the West Auckland area
  • Weekdays AND at least one weekend day required-Saturday preferred

 

📋 Your Day-to-Day

  • Lead and coach the Front-End team to deliver exceptional service
  • Manage rosters, breaks, and day-to-day operations at the front of store
  • Resolve customer queries and concerns with professionalism and empathy
  • Maintain high standards of checkout efficiency and store presentation
  • Oversee customer orders and manage supplier claims
  • Support the Retail Manager with staff development and store initiatives
