Mitre 10 MEGA Albany is one of the largest and busiest home improvement stores in New Zealand, offering customers an extensive range of products and specialist services under one roof.

About the Role

We’re looking for a full-time Kitchen, Bathroom & Appliance Sales Specialist to join our Kitchen & Bathroom showroom team at Mitre 10 MEGA Albany. This is a permanent, in-store role working at least one weekend day, with some public holiday work required.

You’ll support customers undertaking renovations, upgrades and new builds, helping them select appliances, whiteware, tapware, bathroom products, fixtures and fittings that meet their needs, style and budget. This is a service-led retail sales role. You’ll take the time to understand each customer’s project, provide knowledgeable and practical advice, and follow their requirements through from product selection and tailored quotation to ordering and collection.

Working closely with our Kitchen Design team, suppliers and wider store teams, you’ll help ensure customers receive the products, information and support they need to complete their projects with confidence.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

• Assist customers with product selection and practical, informed advice
• Recommend appliances, whiteware, tapware, showers, vanities and related products
• Prepare tailored quotes based on customers’ project requirements and budgets
• Process product and special orders accurately
• Follow up customer enquiries and quotes, and keep customers informed about outstanding orders
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams regarding product availability and order progress
• Check received products against customer and supplier orders
• Identify complementary products and accessories to provide complete project solutions
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and well-presented showroom displays
• Support stock movement, ordering and general department administration
• Work collaboratively with Kitchen Designers and wider store teams

What You'll Bring

You do not need to be an expert across every category from day one. If you bring demonstrated expertise in one relevant product area, ongoing product and supplier training will help you broaden your knowledge across our kitchen, bathroom and appliance ranges.

• Demonstrated product knowledge and sales experience in at least one relevant category, such as appliances, whiteware, kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing or home improvement products
• The ability to act as a trusted product expert and provide accurate, practical advice
• Strong customer service and retail sales skills
• The ability to understand customers’ needs, style and budget and recommend suitable solutions
• Confidence preparing quotes, processing orders and following customer enquiries through to completion
• Clear communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to manage several customer requirements while following through on commitments
• A genuine interest in home improvement and renovation projects
• Availability to work at least one weekend day and some public holidays
