We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Juted Financial Controller to take end-to-end responsibility for the financial management, reporting, and governance of the Group.

This is a senior leadership role, acting as the principal financial authority across all entities, subsidiaries, and business units, and partnering closely with the CEO, Board, and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making and business performance.

 

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you will own the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of all financial reporting and statutory obligations. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, oversee month-end and year-end processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements.

You will provide clear commercial insight from financial results, manage financial risk and cash flow, and lead and develop a capable finance team. This role plays a critical part in supporting growth, continuous improvement, and long-term organisational success.

This is a Tauranga‑based role, located at our Mitre 10 Mega Tauranga store, working 40 hours per week.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold end-to-end responsibility for Juted-wide financial management, reporting, and governance
  • Act as the senior financial authority across all entities, subsidiaries, and business units
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting and statutory compliance
  • Provide strategic financial advice, insights, and recommendations to the CEO, Board, and senior leadership team
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the organisation
  • Oversee General Ledger governance, balance sheet integrity, and month-end and year-end close activities
  • Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory obligations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, external advisors, and regulatory bodies
  • Maintain oversight of cash flow management, working capital, and financial risk exposure
  • Translate financial performance into clear, actionable commercial insights
  • Lead, manage, and develop the finance team to ensure capability, performance, and continuity
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce strong financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Ensure confidentiality, data integrity, and ethical standards are upheld at all times
  • Partner with operational leaders to support cost control, performance improvement, and growth initiatives
  • Support strategic initiatives, business transformation, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks are scalable and fit for purpose
  • Represent the finance function as a trusted, solutions-focused business partner
  • Recommend improvements, corrective actions, and risk mitigation strategies to senior management

 

About You

You are a confident and experienced financial leader with strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach. You bring a high level of integrity, discretion, and accountability to your work and are comfortable operating at executive and board level.

 

You will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (Financial Controller or similar), ideally within a group or multi-entity environment
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with statutory reporting, budgeting, and financial governance
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insight
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing and managing high-performing finance teams
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence at senior levels
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset and strong attention to detail
