Inwards Goods Assistant

We are seeking suitable candidates to become an integral part of the biggest home improvement store in the Bay of Islands.

We require an Inwards Goods Assistant to join our team at our New Mitre 10 Kerikeri store.

Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager your main duties will primarily include receiving, receipting and distributing stock, monitoring inwards goods and dealing with suppliers.

This role involves ensuring stock is checked off and scanned into our inventory system in a quick and timely manner and assisting other Inwards Goods team members to ensure stock flows through the business to reach the shelves in a timely manner to satisfy customer demand.

This is a full-time role working predominantly on a Monday to Friday roster and up to 40 hours per week. Some weekend work may be required, especially during peak periods.

This role is a physical, hands-on role in a busy area of the business.  Accuracy, attention to detail, planning & organisation and communication are all essential skills for this role. 

Our ideal candidate will need to be methodical, accurate and have a responsible attitude. Physical fitness is also essential as the role will involve a fair amount of heavy lifting. Experience in a similar field is preferred, but not essential.

A full NZ driver's licence is also required for this role. 

Applicants must have a full driver’s license to obtain a forklift license if not already held, as this role requires the use of forklifts to unload and load trucks. (F Endorsed would be an asset)

  • Accurate handling and computer processing of all incoming stock
  • Assisting with stock movements/unloading, which will include forklift use
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication at all levels
  • Maintaining standards and disciplines
  • Physically fit – as there will be heaving lifting, prolonged standing, lifting and ladder use
