Hire Department Sales Assistant - Ferrymead

Our Busy Mitre 10 Mega ferrymead’s Handy Hire department is looking for a full time Sales assistant.

Days of work will be a Tuesday – Saturday roster.



  • Ready equipment for rehire post-return including washing, checking over and any repairs needed
  • Attend and fix any break downs on sites -often alone (this may be after some time in the roll)
  • Repair and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment from our hire plant and external work
  • Serve customers and give advice and guidance so they always take the best equipment for the job

What you need is Previous experience in customer service and mechanics is preferred.

A current full class 1 driver's licence with W,F & class 2 endorsements an advantage.

The ability to carry out a physical role, requiring lifting and being on your feet for long periods.

Be proactive and keen to learn new skills

A passion for mechanics and have customer satisfaction and business development at the forefront

Have a positive attitude and be a strong team player

Be computer literate

Shows enthusiasm and positive work habits

This is a varied position where duties will involve anything from processing of hire equipment, cleaning of returned hire equipment, loading of trucks, ensuring the customer understands the  correct safe use the machinery, deliveries of product etc. Helping out in the adjacent landscape department when required.
