Head of Network Performance & Economics

As part of an exciting business transformation, we're strengthening how we optimise and grow our retail network. We're seeking a commercially astute Head of Network Performance & Economics to lead a critical function responsible for maximising the performance, productivity and profitability of our retail network across stores, channels and locations.

Reporting to the Chief Retail & Network Performance Officer, you'll provide the insight, analysis and strategic thinking that informs where we invest, optimise, grow and evolve our network. Working at the intersection of retail operations, finance and commercial strategy, you'll ensure our physical and omnichannel network delivers strong customer outcomes while operating efficiently and sustainably.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll:

• Own the performance framework for the retail network, including sales, margin, productivity, conversion and cost-to-serve metrics.
• Lead the development of network economics models, including store profitability, catchment analysis and return on investment assessments.
• Analyse network performance across stores, formats and channels to identify growth, optimisation and improvement opportunities.
• Develop store segmentation frameworks and define the role of stores within the broader network.
• Drive initiatives that improve store productivity, operational efficiency and overall profitability.
• Lead forecasting and demand modelling to support network planning and resource allocation.
• Partner with supply chain and digital teams to optimise omnichannel fulfilment and customer experience.
• Establish performance benchmarks and reporting frameworks that support data-driven decision-making.
• Build and lead a high-performing team focused on analytics, performance management and network optimisation.

What You'll Bring

• Leadership experience in retail network performance, store operations analytics, commercial finance or a related field.
• Deep expertise in store profitability modelling, cost-to-serve analysis and return on investment assessments.
• Experience in network planning, catchment analysis, site optimisation and footprint strategy.
• Strong understanding of retail performance drivers including sales productivity, conversion, labour efficiency and basket size.  
• Experience in forecasting, scenario modelling and strategic planning.
• Knowledge of omnichannel retail models and fulfilment economics.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders across multiple functions.
• A track record of delivering measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency and profitability.
