A bit about the role…

We are looking for a Hardware Team Member to join our Mitre 10 MEGA Porirua store.

Previous hardware experience is an advantage, but it's certainly not essential. If you're new to the industry, we'll provide on-the-job training and support from our friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable team.

We are looking for positive, enthusiastic candidates that are passionate and understand the importance of delivering outstanding customer service to our trade and DIY customers find the right products and solutions, while contributing to a supportive and team-focused environment.

Hours for this role are worked Tuesday 11.00am - 7.00pm,Wednesday 11.00am - 7.00pm, Thursday 11.00am - 7.00pm, Friday 7.00am- 4.00pm and Saturday 9.00am - 6.00pm.

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused HardwareTeam Member to join our team at Mitre 10 MEGA Porirua.

While hardware knowledge is an advantage, it is not essential. We are committed to providing comprehensive on-the-job training to help you build the skills and confidence needed to succeed. What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two days are the same. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is proactive in their approach, and can think ahead rather than simply react to the task in front of them.

As part of our Hardware team you will:

• Deliver exceptional customer service by actively engaging with customers and confidently assisting them with their purchasing decisions.
• Build your product knowledge and continuously learn to provide accurate advice and practical solutions. Knowledge is built every day by learning from customer projects.
• Take ownership of your department by maintaining high merchandising standards, stock availability, ticket accuracy and presentation.
• Be self-motivated and job-focused, identifying priorities and taking initiative without waiting to be directed.
• Think outside the box to identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Remain productive during quieter periods by identifying meaningful tasks that add value to the business.
• Support stock replenishment, stock integrity, seasonal changes and promotional executions.
• Work collaboratively across multiple departments, willingly assisting teammates where required to achieve the best outcome for our customers and the business.
• Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to changing priorities and embracing new challenges throughout the day.
• Contribute to a positive team culture by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and supporting others to succeed.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment while following all health and safety procedures.
