About the job

Competitive hourly rate and range of employee benefits; On-site role located in Albany (Oteha Valley Road); Permanent, full-time (40 hours a week) opportunity in a hands-on collaborative team. The roster pattern for this role would be Monday to Friday (12:30-21:00). These set days and hours ensure adequate coverage to effectively serve our valued customers and replenish stock daily after store closure. Fulfilment of this work pattern is required.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and semi-skilled individual for our Gardens department to serve the Albany community. Whether your gardening passion stems from personal experience in your own backyard or from formal horticultural training, you will assist customers in selecting products tailored to their needs, budget, and project requirements, while also handling merchandising duties. Over time, you will develop expertise in all garden-related products, including indoor gardens, garden hardware ranging from wheelbarrows to ride-on mowers, fertilizers, and pest control, providing customers with technical information and advice.

What will you bring?

• You would have related experience working with hardscaping and/or landscaping (garden care, garden hardware and/or garden power tool products)
• You would be regarded as physically fit and capable of lifting or manual handling.
• You would have a willingness to share your passion for gardening with others.
• You would be a local resident in the Albany and adjacent areas.

In addition to the above:

There is sometimes a need to move soils and other heavy products and so forklifting experience would be advantageous.
