Mitre 10 MEGA Porirua is looking for a retail professional with green fingers and a customer-focused attitude to take on this full time role.

Ideally the successful candidates will have a passion for customer service, excellent communication skills, and have an enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude!

We have a full-time permanent position available working a Sunday –Thursday roster (Sun 8.00am-4.30pm, Mon 07.30am - 4.00pm, Tues 08.00am - 4.30pm Wed 8.00am -4.30pm, Thurs 10:30am – 7:00pm).

You will play an essential part in helping our customers select the right plants, fertilizers, tools and garden hardware that best suit their needs. For this position we are looking for a candidate who has: 

• Great enthusiasm for customer service and sales 
• Great work ethic, a can do attitude, and a team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Confidence using a computer and the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to adapt and be flexible 
• The physical capabilities to manage the manual handling aspects of this role (manual handling, prolonged standing, ladder use)
• A good awareness of Health & Safety
• Knowledge of plants and garden products is essential
