Garden Sales Team Member


Must haves…

  • You will have strong Plant/Gardening knowledge from a background working with and selling Plants/Gardening solutions in a Retail / Trade sales environment. Solid proven Gardening experience/knowledge + willingness to learn.
  • At minimum, a basic understanding of associated plant support products, like fertilizers and pest control.
  • The confidence and ability to help customers understand what they need for projects.
  • Sufficient strength and fitness to deal with the task of merchandising products etc.
  • A positive engaging personality that focuses on the full solution for the customer.
  • A desire to learn/grow and support team around you learn/grow as well

You will be… (A day in the life)

  • Performing routine plant maintenance, watering, rotational merchandising and quality control. 
  • Able to perform lite stepladder work to store and merchandise stock. 
  • Able to safely lift bags of plant mediums at times onto customer trolleys etc.
  • Not only focussing on plants and the Garden centre but rather serving indoors across the entire category of gardening solutions as required.
  • Understanding of working in varying weather. (it’s a garden centre…)
  • Carrying out general daily shop duties, helping maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Occasionally on till service to cover breaks / demand.
  • Working a full time role including x1 weekend day.
  • Able to rise to the challenge and demands of the seasons as they shift. (It gets busy in spring and summer.)
  • Able to proactively be a part of a positive, dynamic and engaging team culture.
  • Great at time-keeping and able to work with others or autonomously.
  • Supported and listening to. 

Reporting to the Garden Manager, this is a full time 32 hours pw role, including x1 weekend day. 

NB: Hours may be able to increase to 40 hours pw in time and with demand.
