Garden Centre Retail Assistant (Part Time - 24 Hours)

Kiwis love to garden and we love to assist them with their gardening needs.  Did you know that Mitre 10 is New Zealand’s leading gardening retailer and we will have an opportunity within our Westgate store where you can help guide customers with their “green” supplies.

We are looking for an experienced retail professional with green fingers and a customer-focused attitude to demonstrate your gardening passion and help guide our valued customers with their gardening needs and their “green” supplies on a daily basis.

You will be results driven and will understand the value of contributing to a high performing team that work together to deliver a memorable experience for all our customers through great customer service and excellent product knowledge, to make sure the customer is leaving with the right product to suit the needs they came in for every time they come in store.

This is a part time role working 24 hours per week (Sunday, Monday, Friday)

• Must be physically fit as heavy lifting is required;
• The availability to work on a roster including weekends.

Your gardening passion may come from time in your own back-yard or you may have undertaken horticultural training – either way you will enjoy helping our customers select the right plants, along with all the dry goods and hardware, whether it’s fertilizers and pest control or gardening gloves and a wheel barrow.  Ideally you will be experienced with the sale of both green and dry garden goods, although applicants with a proven retail background and who are eager to learn will be considered.
