Front-End Supervisor - Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Front-End Supervisor to lead our front-end team and help ensure our customers enjoy a smooth, friendly, and efficient experience from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.
About the Role
As Front-End Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of our front-end department. You’ll support and lead our cashier and customer service teams, oversee front-end operations, and help maintain the high standards our customers expect from Mitre 10 MEGA.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys motivating others to do their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and motivate front-end team members, including cashiers and customer service staff
- Ensure accurate and efficient cashier operations, including cash handling and transaction processing
- Manage staff rostering and scheduling to ensure appropriate cover during peak periods
- Train and coach team members on customer service standards, company policies, and procedures
- Resolve customer queries and escalations professionally and efficiently
- Uphold Mitre 10 MEGA values and standards in every customer and team interaction
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service supervisory role (preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with a positive, hands-on approach
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
- Confidence using POS systems and basic computer applications
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required
- A genuine passion for customer service and team development
