Department Team Leader

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader/Supervisor to join our Seasonal team and manage a dynamic department specialising in outdoor furniture, BBQs, heating & cooling systems, and fireplaces. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a proven track record in leadership and a love for outdoor living products. Responsibilities:

• Lead, inspire, and motivate a small team to provide exceptional customer service and maintain high product knowledge standards.
• Foster a positive team culture and ensure that all staff are aligned with company values and goals.
• Oversee the presentation and organisation of the department, ensuring all displays, products, and signage are well-maintained and visually appealing.
• Provide guidance and training on the features, benefits, and proper use of outdoor furniture, BBQs, heating and cooling products, and fireplaces.
• Ensure a high standard of customer engagement, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
• Manage day-to-day department operations, inventory control, product merchandising, staff training and rostering. 
• Maintain a focus on sales performance and customer satisfaction, driving the department’s success during peak season.
• Collaborate with management to plan and implement seasonal promotions, changes and product launches.

Skills & attributes:

• A customer-focused approach with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• A demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve sales goals.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as needed (eg lifting, moving large items etc).
• A strong passion and knowledge of outdoor furniture, BBQs, heating and cooling systems, and fireplaces is advantageous.
• Previous experience in sales or retail supervising is preferred.
