Customer Services Manager


Mitre10 MEGA Palmerston North is a local family owned business and has an exciting opportunity where you can showcase your excellent customer service skills and be part of a high performing team.

We’re looking for a people-first leader who can deliver fast, friendly service across checkouts, the service desk and customer enquiries—while keeping standards, systems and cash controls running smoothly.

About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll coach and roster a high-performing team, resolve escalations, and ensure accurate cash handling and compliance. You’ll partner with department and store leadership to coordinate follow-ups, orders and solutions for our customers.

The customer service team deliver a lasting impression of our business and the person we seek must have the ability to remain cool under pressure and be able to think on their feet and attain a positive result for customers, team and business alike.

This role is 40 hours per week and includes a weekend day.

About You

  • experience leading a customer service/front-end team in busy retail (big-box/hardware ideal)
  • passion for providing excellent customer service
  • enthusiasm and team spirit
  • be a detail minded self-starter
  • be able to multi-task, and have the ability to follow through and follow up situations in a timely manner
  • A coaching leadership style—able to build capability and lift performance
  • Capability to duty manage the store
