Customer Service Team Member - Mitre 10 Onehunga

About the position

We have a permanent, full time position available at Mitre 10 in Onehunga working predominately at the front-end of the store.  This is a customer facing role, we are looking for a Checkout Operator with merchandising and sales skills to join our friendly and supportive team.

Your daily tasks will include point of sale, dealing with all customer queries—escalating where required, assisting with customers’ orders, returns, and also working with the team looking after and stocking the homeware department.

The successful candidate will be required to work 5 days (40 hours) per week including one day of the weekend (Tuesday to Saturday).

You will be an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a team environment and has a customer-focused approach.  You will be someone who is happy to keep the front-end of the operation, including the shop entrance, clean and tidy.

The ideal candidate will possess, and be able to demonstrate:

• a passion for customer service excellence
• a keen attention to detail
• a quick and alert mind, with the ability to adapt and be flexible
• the ability to take the initiative and problem-solve autonomously
• an intermediate level of computer literacy
• Retail sales experience, preferred but not essential 
• Physically fit as lifting and merchandising products is a part of this role
• Good time management
