Café Chef (16 hours) - Columbus Silverdale, Auckland

Since Riviera Hardware Holdings inception in 2009, where we started out with a small local Mitre 10 store in Warkworth, we have grown to b the largest group of stores within the Mitre 10 national network. We are proud to offer our customers a shopping experience like no other in New Zealand's largest hardware retail store; Mitre 10 MEGA Albany as well as New Lynn, Warkworth, Whangaparoa and Silverdale, boast Columbus Coffee shops. We also have a Distribution Centre and own our own Frame and Truss Manufacturing Plant.

Partnering with Columbus Coffee, one of New Zealand’s most recognized brands, we have a unique and successful partnership serving premium cafe food and award-winning coffees from within our Mitre 10 MEGA Stores.  Our Café which is located within Mitre 10 MEGA Whangaparaoa is the hub of hustle and bustle, accompanied by the light, bright, open plan design it’s the perfect meeting spot for our local community to come together. 

About the job

Competitive remuneration; no night shifts (opening hours hours are 7-3); initial roster pattern is Sunday and Monday (6:30-15:00); opportunities to grow and develop within the larger team; generous staff discounts across our five Mitre 10 Stores; brand new, light, bright and modern working environment.

About the role

Our ideal staff member will be self-driven, experienced and have a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service with the ability to work calmly under pressure is a must. 

What will you bring?

• Previous cooking experience, preferably in a cafe environment 
• Understanding of FCP and H&S requirements required
• Experience working in a fast-paced café preferred
• Flexible in availability – must be available to cover some weekends and public holidays
• Clear, strong communication skills is a must
• Exceptional customer service
• Most importantly a passion for providing exceptional food and beverages
• Availability to commit to a 16 hour work week (which would include 1 weekend day).
