🔧 About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our Trade Sales team. This is a full-time, permanent role where you will manage and grow an existing portfolio of trade customers while actively pursuing new business opportunities.
You’ll be responsible for building strong partnerships with builders, contractors, and trade businesses — identifying opportunities, strengthening relationships, and growing revenue. This is not purely a relationship management role. While you will inherit established clients, success in this role will be measured by your ability to identify opportunities, win new accounts, and expand our presence in the market.
Reporting to the General Manager – Trade Sales, your focus will include:
- Growing trade revenue by identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Managing and developing an existing portfolio of trade customer
- Building strong, long-term relationships with builders, contractors, and trade companies
- Working closely
with internal teams to deliver solutions that support customer success
- Staying connected to industry activity, projects, and market opportunities across Auckland
- Representing Mitre 10 professionally within the trade and construction community
👷 What You’ll Bring
We’re looking
for someone who understands the trade environment and is comfortable operating
in a commercial, relationship-driven sales role.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in account management, trade sales, or business development
- A strong background in the building, construction, or trade supply industries
- The ability to develop relationships and open doors with new customers
- Confidence managing commercial discussions and negotiating outcomes
- Strong organisation and follow-through — you deliver on what you promise
- A practical understanding of building materials, construction processes, or trade supply environments
- A self-motivated, results-focused approach to growing business
