Mitre 10 MEGA Albany is a flagship location on Auckland’s North Shore — large format, commercially focused, and deeply connected to one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing construction corridors. Our trade business plays a critical role in the store’s success, supporting builders, contractors, and commercial customers working across residential and light commercial projects.

We’re now looking to add an experienced Trade Account Manager to our Albany-based Trade team — someone who is commercially sharp, comfortable opening new doors, and motivated by growth.

 

The Opportunity

This is a full-time, permanent role suited to a proven trade sales professional who enjoys operating out in the market rather than behind a desk.

While you’ll be supported by a well-established store, strong internal systems, and a respected brand, this is not a passive account management role. Success here comes from momentum, visibility, and consistent commercial activity.

Reporting to the General Manager – Trade Sales, you will work closely with in-store teams to ensure customers receive practical, on-time, and reliable solutions that help them get the job done.

You will take ownership of a defined trade portfolio, with a strong emphasis on Actively winning new trade customers, expanding existing accounts through increased share of spend and identifying upcoming projects and converting opportunity into revenue.

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Prospecting and acquiring new trade customers across the North Shore and wider Auckland region
  • Managing and developing an existing portfolio of active trade accounts
  • Identifying project opportunities and aligning product solutions accordingly
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of market activity, competitors, and industry conditions
  • Negotiating commercially sound outcomes that deliver value to both customer and business
  • Representing Mitre 10 MEGA Albany with credibility and professionalism in the trade community

 

About You

You’re someone who understands how the construction and building supply world really works. You can relate to builders, talk product with confidence, and navigate commercial conversations without hesitation.

You’re likely to bring:

  • Solid experience in trade sales, account management, or business development
  • A background within building, construction, or trade supply environments (required)
  • A proven ability to generate new business, not just manage existing accounts
  • Strong commercial judgement and negotiation capability
  • Good organisation and follow-through — you close the loop
  • A practical, no-nonsense approach to relationship building
  • Drive, resilience, and a results-focused mindset
