We have an
exciting Leadership Chef opportunity available in a busy Columbus Café
Situated inside Mitre 10 MEGA, we are a small but professional team who believe in
having fun while we work hard. Going above and beyond to offer our customers a
premium coffee and food experience we are looking for a Café Head Chef to work
with the Café Manager to run the kitchen.

As the Café Head Chef
- You will contribute to the successful running of the kitchen - in a busy cafe environment. You will be given a full induction and training but will need to be confident and experienced to work unsupervised.
- Experience to lead a
talented team of 2 other chefs
The ideal candidate for this role will
- Be a team player with good communication skills
- Be a professional who strives to maintain high standards and who takes real pride in the quality of the food
- Solution focused with an ability to manage stressful situations effectively
- Be confident with stock control systems, costing food products and food compliance.
- Ideally have at least 12 months experience as a Head chef working in a busy Cafe kitchen with great experience in cooking short order brunch meals and baking skills to help with preparing savoury and sweet food cabinet items
- Be able to
work on a 7-day roster which will include weekdays, weekends and public
holidays as required
Responsibilities include
- Prepare and cook meals as per Columbus Coffee Standards experience in baking would be an advantage.
- Prepare baked goods for cabinet, ensuring innovation and freshness.
- Creating seasonal local favourite dishes
- Productivity, stock control and rotation
- Ensure daily monitoring and control of all food purchasing, purchasing specifications and food stock control.
- Follow and
maintain our high standard of Food Safety compliance.
