Mitre 10 MEGA Silverdale is the newest and one of the most exciting stores in our group—serving the rapidly growing Hibiscus Coast and Milldale communities. With a strong trade presence and a loyal base of local DIY customers, our store is known for its friendly, knowledgeable team and its commitment to making home improvement easy.

We’re a close-knit crew who take pride in helping customers find the right solutions—whether that’s loading up timber in the trade yard, giving advice on building materials, or lending a hand to a fellow team member. 🌱 About the Role


We’re on the hunt for an experienced retail leader with a passion for plants and outdoor living to take charge of our busy Garden Centre at Mitre 10 MEGA Silverdale.

This is a full-time, permanent leadership role reporting to the Store Manager. You’ll oversee all aspects of the Garden Centre—engaging and motivating your team, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and driving growth in both green and dry goods categories.

💡 What You’ll Bring

  • A genuine passion for gardening, landscaping, or horticulture—whether through formal training or hands-on experience
  • Strong retail leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets, managing stock levels, and driving department growth
  • Knowledge of green goods and garden hardware, including fertilisers, pest control, and dry goods
  • Creative flair for merchandising and delivering visually appealing displays
  • A customer-first mindset and commitment to providing an outstanding shopping experience
  • You’re part of the community — ideally living locally in the Silverdale catchment.

 

🛠️ Your Day-to-Day

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the Garden Centre team to achieve sales and service targets
  • Oversee the replenishment, merchandising, and ticketing of all products
  • Build strong relationships with customers, offering expert advice and tailored recommendations
  • Liaise with suppliers to maintain strong relationships, ensure product availability, and coordinate promotions
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and inviting department environment
  • Work closely with store leadership to implement growth strategies and promotional plans
