At Columbus Coffee, we’re all about great food, expertly crafted coffee, and creating a warm, welcoming café experience for our local communities. With over 70 cafés across Aotearoa, we blend the best of both worlds—the local charm of a family business with the training and support of a national brand. Our Albany, Whangaparaoa, and Silverdale cafés are local favorites, and we’re on the lookout for casual crew who can step in with skill and a smile.

📍 About the Role

This is a casual role—perfect for someone with café experience who enjoys variety and flexibility. You’ll cover shifts when team members are away or unwell, so reliability and readiness are key.

🕐 Ad-hoc hours (no set roster)
📍 Based across Albany, Whangaparaoa, and Silverdale
🚗 You’ll need your own reliable transport
🌙 No night shifts!
💰 Competitive hourly rate

💡 What You’ll Bring

✅ 2+ years’ previous café or restaurant experience
✅ Barista skills (coffee art not necessarily required, but speed and consistency are a must!)
✅ Confident under pressure in fast-paced service
✅ Knowledge of cabinet food and beverage prep (smoothies, frappes, milkshakes, etc.)
✅ Excellent communication and customer service skills
✅ Flexible and available to work weekends, public holidays, and peak periods
✅ Happy to travel between our 3 café locations as needed

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

🍴 Taking orders, processing sales, plating cabinet food
🥤 Preparing smoothies, frappes, and cold drinks
☕ Assisting the Barista and jumping on coffee if needed
🍽️ Delivering orders and clearing tables
🧼 Helping out with dishwashing, kitchen support, and general cleanliness
🧁 Maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards
📋 Following Columbus Coffee prep and presentation standards
