Retail Assistant - Flooring | Mitre 10 MEGA New Lynn

About the Role

If you're looking for a role where you'll spend most of your day sitting behind a desk or standing at a service counter, this probably isn't the position for you.

We're looking for a full-time Team Member to join our Flooring department at Mitre 10 MEGA New Lynn, working 40 hours per week, including one weekend day.

This is a hands-on retail role where a large part of your day will be spent moving stock. Flooring products are often heavy, bulky, and awkward to handle, so regular lifting is simply part of the job. You'll be replenishing stock from inwards goods and storage areas, maintaining displays, helping customers find the right products, and assisting with loading purchases when required.

You'll be on your feet for most of the day keeping stock moving, maintaining the department, and supporting other areas of the store when needed. While customer service is important, this role is equally about keeping products flowing from the storeroom to the shop floor and ensuring the department remains well stocked, organised, and ready for customers.

Your Day May Involve

• Replenishing flooring stock from storage areas and inwards goods
• Moving bulky and heavy products throughout the department
• Assisting customers with flooring products and related purchases
• Loading customer vehicles when required
• Maintaining stock levels, displays and merchandising standards
• Building product knowledge across flooring and associated categories
• Supporting stock movement across other store departments
• Keeping work areas safe, tidy and organised

Who This Role Suits

You'll enjoy this role if you prefer practical, hands-on work and like seeing the results of a productive day's work. Previous flooring experience isn't essential. What's more important is a willingness to get stuck in, learn about the products, and contribute to a busy department where no two days look exactly the same.

• Availability to work a full-time roster of 40 hours per week, including one weekend day.
