As a result of internal promotion, this opportunity within our Imports team has arisen. Within the position you will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective importation of product, utilising best practice systems and processes to purchase, import and distribute a portfolio of directly imported products.

You will be involved in:

  • Costing incoming product;

  • Forecasting demand and purchasing;

  • Importation, receipting and order processing; and

  • Communicating closely with suppliers, category managers, freight forwarders and distribution centres.

This role requires at least 2-5 years relevant experience in quoting and costing products, demand forecasting, overseas purchasing, shipping and importing, and distributing within a retail network.

A strong background in retail importing, or similar, with sound freight forwarding knowledge is required. Exposure to demand planning would be advantageous.  You will be someone who can work autonomously and challenge the status quo, while being able to work well within a cohesive team environment.

To be successful you will be highly accurate with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and interpersonal skills, along with a proven ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, be very numeric and computer literate.
